Update: thought I was overmedicated actually badly undermedicated

Hi everyone,

I posted the other day about having horrible overmediaction symptoms: having visible shaking/tremor, periods of extreme anxiety, constant sleepiness, mild headaches and feeling like I'm out of my body, difficulty focusing my eyes, shortness of breath/air hunger, insomnia, overheating and waking in the middle of the night in a hot anxious sweat and strangely slightly bulgy hand veins. I dropped my T3 first down to 5mcg but didn't feel better and started experiencing more prominent internal tremors and then dropped to no T3 the last few days and felt AWFUL panic anxiety states, fatigue, pulse that would sometimes race for a minute and skip, shakiness, sweating underarms, oscillating warmth and freezing cold, headaches with eating, constant horrendous internal shaking, heartburn etc. I took 2.5mcg t3 yesterday morning to see what would happen and felt better all day.

I originally thought I wouldn't get a thyroid test due to the COVID situation but it turns out they could fit me in - and unfortunately I'd already been lowering my dose the past days thinking they couldn't fit me in. On day of test I had taken 5mcg for the past 3 days, 7.5mcg 1 day before that skipped the dose the day before that. Before all this I had been taking my usual 10mcg. I had been taking my normal 75mcg t4 with no changes and also followed the protocol day before - last T3 dose 8.5 hours before and t4 24 hours before. Well today i got the results:

Serum T4: 16.1 (range 10-20) previously on 10mcg t3: 17.3

Serum T3: 4.3 (range 3.5-6.5) previously on 10mcg t3: 5.6

I had still been symptomatic with the previous results on 75mcg t4 and 10mcg t3.

back in January before I started taking T3 my T3 result was: 4 and T4 was: 18.8.

As you can see I have dropped dramatically and this is only with 5 days of being off 10mcg and at around 5mcg so I'm not even sure if its accurately low enough. It also appears my T4 has dropped so I must be converting better as its low in conjunction with the low T3. It seems that gaining weight (13 pounds and I still have a stone at least to gain back) has dramatically affected my results. It would appear I am going to need to up my T4 too right? I would like my T4 to be midrange but when I take my T3 back up I assume it will fall even more. Plus I imagine even another 5mcg T3 again isnt't going to shoot me up massively as by symptoms I was clearly now undermedicated on 75mcg t4 and 10mcg t3.

I thought I had better post this also in case anyone has the same issues as me and this can help them out! - I really thought I was overmedicated but it appears instead its hypoglycemic symptoms in relation to low T3 as I used to have these badly in years before diagnosis. I am little unsure of where to even start with dosing these results. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

As you have been chopping and changing doses I would recommend that you go back to the dose you were on and leave things to settle again. The body does not like changes - it likes to know when the hormones are coming which is why we need to stick to a routine.

Once things have settled it will be time to change either your levo or you lio doses.

Thank you! This is what I was thinking as I have been messing my poor body around so much! I will go back to my old result and hold for 6 weeks! :)
