Certainly could have. Would explain a lot!

I think B has very fair hair that is why he looks like he has very thin eyebrows. I personally don't think he has thyroid problems. He has fathered a lot of children and I think he would have a low sex drive if he did!

A lady presenter who presents with her Irish husband looks like she has a swollen thyroid to me. She also complains of weight gain and thinning hair which she blames the menopause for. I might be wrong but that is how my thyroid disease started.

Good sketch by the way I used to draw a lot and I love art.

Mmmmmm🤔

I know who you mean ... you could well be right there ... I can spot a thyroid patient quite easily these days .

A lady from one of the shops I go to told me she was feeling tired , putting on

weight , losing her hair, sweating profusely etc etc .

I urged her to ask her Dr. for Thyroid tests .. after the THIRD test.. HYPOthyroid diagnosis !

Nearly two years later ... she's still

suffering .... and getting nowhere on lowest dose that Dr. insists is fine .

Deplorable!

When I watch her talk you can see she has a swelling in her neck ... I might be wrong but you cannot really tell I have a multi-nodular goitre because I just look like I have a fat neck!

Haha... I'm sure you do not have ..

I have a friend who I only see once every three or four months usually .

Her eyes are very protruding and her neck is very swollen .. she has been like that for years .. and she has a number of Thyroid symptoms

I told her when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and she asked me ... what is THAT ?

So I explained my condition, hoping she would recognise herself in some of my symptoms . ... but alas, No.

.... and I didn't have the courage to suggest she might have something similar ...

but I cannot believe her lady doctor looks at her across a desk and cannot see what I and others see !!!

Unfortunately other people think you are obsessed with thyroid disease. My own daughter also has symptoms and she has told me to stop talking about it because she is sick of hearing about thyroids! We visited a farm a few months ago and one of the cockerels had a croaky voice and she made a joke about him having thyroid disease. No one in my family takes my illness seriously because I don't really look too ill at the moment. My thyroid is throbbing now and I have a red patch on my neck which is worrying me at the moment.

Yes ... I know exactly what you mean .

I can see my daughter is developing many Thyroid symptoms too .. not entirely surprising since every female member of my Family has it in one form or another ..

However .. I managed to get her to ask her Doctor for blood tests for Thyroid disease .. result .. Negative ..and now she's convinced she's fine .

... yes ! That'll be as Negative ... like the Three I had before MY POSITIVE Diagnosis !🤷‍♀️

.....Make an appointment to see about that red patch... and swelling !!

I have cancelled a recent appointment because of the coronavirus. I don't actually trust my surgery with my thyroid health. Last year after I had a thyroid storm and was admitted to hospital I was advised to see my GP asap. I saw an american locum doctor who requested a full thyroid blood test including antibodies. When I rang up for my results the receptionist said everything is "normal" I then logged into my online account and saw that they had only tested the TSH and because that was in range they did not test anything else as usual. My TSH is 0.38 at the moment but it can change quite quickly. I did have an ultrasound of my thyroid which showed a multi-nodular goitre which hasn't got any bigger over the last 12 years . I will probably do another private blood test once the coronavirus is over ... whenever that will be.

Thyroid diseases are most often hereditary. I have it, two of my sisters have it...and I’m pretty sure we got it from both my mom and dad’s side of the family. A lot of my aunts look like they have thyroid issues. Unfortunately, back then, it wasn’t a very popular disease and people didn’t take it very seriously.

Much like now 😄.

Could be possible. Having a very fidgety demeanour is suggestive. Easily distracted another ... A recently reported diet consumed included a litre of Coca-Cola daily and other foods we would be horrified to eat - so poor nutrient levels could explain a lot too ! B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD - bet they are all low and remain untested no doubt !

I can't see if he has the customary lines around his neck due to the shirt collar...

greygoose profile image

I don't think he actually has a neck!

Cooper27 profile image

Well there must be a join line somewhere in there :D

I think his head just sits on his shoulders, like an apple on a gate post.

Marz profile image

I think he has shocking posture whereby his neck curves forward from a hump at the base of his neck. Could be the 'Buffalo Hump' - linked to adrenals - I have read. Stress is not good for these folk and known to drive health issues - umm!

That's very true.

The 'hyper' phase of Hashimotos perhaps ?

re. eyebrows, I think it's just his fair hair. Have a look at photos of his brother Jo.

He does have that “f**k my life” demeanor about him. He almost always looks...exhausted and fed up.

I cannot see what all the women see in him ?! I am 5 years older than him and find him very unattractive and too short if I am being honest. As long as he is a good PM I don't really care about what he gets up to in his private life btw.😉

Or both!

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply toCooper27

Yes that must be the reason ... I don't get why some younger women go for unattractive older men. I think probably the reason I feel like that is my Dad is only 18 years older than I am. My husband always jokes he could go for someone a lot younger than me and I always say what younger woman would be interested in a old man like him lol 😉

He has always looks tired to me I thought it was just being busy and older and recently someone on the news said he was in his early 50s ...Wow and now ladies man.....double Wow!

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply toBatty1

He is 55 and will be 56 in June ... so pushing 60 ... His Dad Stanley (I had a Uncle Stan lol) looks a lot better than he does.

I mean, it’s certainly not for his looks...no offense 😄

Lora7again profile image

Do you?! ha ha my husband was blonde when I met him but not as fair as him. I prefer men who look like Richard Madden if I am being honest. 😉

Lora7again profile image

Rich as well .... not a bad combination.

Lora7again profile image

My husband has an old fashioned name and when I first met him I thought so ... he has now grown into the name 😊 He wanted to call our son after himself and I would not allow it because I don't like it. I named my son a nice Irish name that does not date. 😊

I might start another pancake thread! or a thread about me dropping my Easter cake on the floor! This is true I am afraid I spend hours making a lovely cake only to drop it on the floor! Some one had spilt water on the floor which is tiled and I now have a massive bruise on my you-know-what!

What are some main symptoms of thyroid disease, my numbers seems to go (TSH) seem to go on the very low end of normal the 3 months later, right in the middle, like going back and forth.

Hello sophiaS1980

- people probably won't see & answer your question here - after all the banter above. Try creating a new thread, meanwhile here's a link to the Thyroid UK's main site & symptom list.

He does come across as a down-to-earth person with a good sense of humor...when he’s not wishing he didn’t get into politics 😄🤪.

He doesn’t carry himself in an arrogant manner or like a typical politician.

Henry Cavill 😍...and, sometimes, Aidan Turner 😏.

Though I admit I was never googly eyed over Aidan Turner until I saw him in the re-make of Poldark. Before then, he just came across as a hairy pretty boy.

No offense intended towards women who like their men hairy.

Aidan Turner was good as a vampire.
