Hi all would really appreciate some feedback on these results which were done last year. Am aiming at getting my adrenals sorted out based on these results but do not know how to interpret them. Can anyone help me please.
8am 15.40 6.0 - 21.0
12am 4.60 1.5 - 7.6
2pm 6.05 0 - 5.5
4pm 6.04 0 - 5.5
6pm 3.84 0 - 4.5
10pm 2.43 0 - 2.0
I can see 2pm and 4pm result are basically the same but these numbers are supposed to lower in accordance with 12am result yet they have gone up. What is the explanation for this if any?
thank you most kindly

We don't very often see 6 point test results, and the odd one or two that we have do tend to show the 2pm and 4pm results very similar.

The explanation will be that your adrenals were out of whack at that particular time for whatever reason, maybe there is some stress around that time of day for you?
In fact, that wasn't a good set of results at all (except for Noon result) with your results showing
8am - 62.67%
Noon -50.82%
2pm - 110.00%
4pm - 109.82%
6pm - 85.33%
10pm - 121.50%
8am level is not high enough, 2pm onwards all levels are too high.
I wouldn't put any store by results that were done last year anyway, things change so if you are concerned about your adrenals then it would be best to do a new one.
You also have to bear in mind that the 4 results from 2pm to 10pm have ranges starting at zero. Ranges are based on healthy population, and if anyone really did have a cortisol level of zero they would be very, very far from healthy! All in all not a test to be recommended.
Testing DHEA as well as cortisol helps with determining stages of adrenal fatigue. In the initial stage, both cortisol and DHEA will be high, the more we struggle to produce stress hormones then DHEA will lower, and more advanced adrenal fatigue then cortisol will lower too. My simple explantation, more info out there to research if you want to.
Medichecks don't offer the combination test, you'd need to use Regenerus to Genova Diagnostics, detail on ThyroidUK's main website : thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/p...
Hi Susie sorry for late reply. I did respond to your response to my post yesterday but network went down and I was unable to send it yesterday.
So a big massive thank you for invaluable info you sent me. As always have taken your advise on board and going to taken action today. I, and many others on this site would be totally lost and powerless without the freely given help and support. Sooooo grateful. Massive thank you.
Just a thought, if you're thinking of doing the Regenerus or Genova test, they require saliva samples in tubes that need to be frozen. Is this the way Medichecks do it? I think I may have seen someone say they are cotton type (?) wads you chew on, or something to obtain the saliva???
So the frozen saliva in tubes are returned to Regenerus (who I use) with an ice pack in a polystyrene box, can't remember what Genova do. So, of course, the samples must arrive next day.
With the current situation there are postal delays, even with Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day. What was Guaranteed by 1pm is now Guaranteed by 9pm, and the Guaranteed by 9am is now Guaranteed by 12 noon.
I have always sent mine by the Guaranteed by 1pm service which costs £7.50. The Guaranteed by 9am service is £22.89. Regenerus have the option of a courier pick up for £9.50. You will need to bear this in mind if you want to do a test at the moment. Things may change of course.
If you do want to do one now then maybe contact Regenerus just to make sure they can still offer the service at the moment and see if the courier service will still be available, or whether the Guaranteed by 9pm Royal Mail service will be good enough.
Hi Susie just read your reply......re sending cortisol saliva samples. I have gone for Regenerus because its frozen sample which to my mind would give better results. With previous Blue Horizon test had to chew a piece of foam which absorbed the saliva. Not good to chew on a piece of foam.....full of nasty chemicals!!! Think I will return the kit and ask for a refund because of having to chew foam.
Will phone an check postal situation with Regenerus if no courier service will opt for £22.89 so it gets there by noon.
Dealing with thyroid and adrenal issues is pretty daunting to say the least but such people like you and so many others on this site who so freely help and support members really does lighten the load.
I think the courier they use is FedEx. I'm sure it was £9.50 last time I did the test. They provide a label which, of course, if you don't use then just cut off the address and stick it on the envelope. The cost of the courier return is written on the form you send back, if you don't use FedEx just cross it out and write "Used Royal Mail" or something like that.
I remember years ago doing a test where you chewed on something, it was some kind of cotton type stuff, or synthetic cotton type, a bit like a tampon, used to make me gag 🤢
