I usually have Wockhart 25mcg thyroxine, but my usual Pharmacy can't get these. They either have Teva, North Star ( which is also Teva), which make me ill, or Mercury Pharma. The Pharmacist said the Mercury Pharma are loose in a big bottle which she has to count out - is this right, or do the 25mcg also come in blister packs? Just worried about her handling them (in the current climate), and also about the date - you wouldn't know if they were out of date.Brings back memories of years ago when the Liothyronine used to come like that and you would get a brown bottle with them loose and no date on it.
Thanks!

Make sure you ask them to write the expiry date and batch number of the big jar on the actual pharmacy label on the pot they decant into - before you accept their offer. (Afterwards might be too late - even minutes later - as they might have two large jars, or throw away the jar, or simply have procedures to avoid possible mistakes.)
too late! I picked them up early.Looks like the standard brown bottle I used to get the liothyronine in.
I asked about the expiry date, she said she had to put a years time on the bottle, but the big bottle had a longer expiry date.I will be using them before a year anyway.I have looked at the tablets and they do have "LT" on one side and "25" on the other, but unfortunately I don't have the batch number.Oh well, will know for next time. Will just have to see how I go.Can't be worse than Teva!
I have now tried the Mercury Pharma thyroxine and they give be blinding migraines! As soon as I took them I knew they were stronger and made me hyper.I have had to go back on my Wockhardt as I just can't stand it.I have a couple of weeks left of the Wockhardt and I don't know what I'll do then. I have had a week of the Mercury, I know I should probably have a couple of weeks for them to get in my system, but I can't stand the pain. The thing is the 25mcg only come in 4 makes as far as I know? Teva, North Star (which is Teva) Mercury and Wockhardt. Unless you know of any more? I suppose I will have to try Teva again, but I tried it before and it also gave me migraines and diarrhoea,I could put up with that, but not the migraines.I have suffered badly with them for a lot of my life, and now I have hit a period where they have gone away then I can't go back to that, life will not be worth living.
When I get my next prescription I will have to go to all the Chemists I can find until I get one with Wockhardt. (That's if I'm allowed to with the lockdown).
