I've tried upping my dose of Armour to 90 and I get a sore top sides of throat every day, tight chest and breathing difficulty and swelling of ankles so I will go back to levo thyroxine tomorrow. My question is, should i start with 100mcg or less?? I used to take 75 and 100 on alternate days. I'd be grateful for advice.
I'm not due to see endo. till May.

When Forest Pharm sold Armour, that was the end of a good product. Now, look for NP thyroid, WP thyroid, Naturethroid. Adjust the dose by body temp. Order book 'Solved, the Riddle of Illness'.
Stick with Armour - go back to 60mg, spilt the dose into 2 parts or 3 parts (breaky, lunch and dinner - yes take with food. Then slowly increase (15mg) using your symptoms as a guide.
I agree with jamesal0, Why would you stop Armour just because you passed through your critical point? Reduce your dose just a little bit. Go back to the dose where you were OK then add half of the dose that caused your problem. It is a very tricky fiddle to get to the right dose. I am on Armour and I too tried to up it by a little tiny bit, 1/4 pill and I had big problems with heart rate and blood pressure so I dropped back to the dose which worked. I split a half pill into 4 now and again but that was too much trouble so I just stick with the 1.5 grains which works perfectly OK. I fall asleep at about 9:00pm but that's not a big deal.
I don't think you can simply swop from NDT back to T4 alone without looking forward to disabling symptoms.
Why don't you drop back down a little, as suggested by others ?
It is a bit fiddly cutting bits into even smaller bits, but it's got to be a better support system for you than just T4 only ?
I'm with Graves post RAI thyroid ablation and seem to be ok on 1 + 1/2 grain/tablets - sometimes my half is more like a 1/3rd or 2/3rds but if it's 3/4 - I certainly know about it and feel uncomfortable within my body and get anxious.
