How do you handle levothyroxine induced anxiety?

Thanks to this wonderful group helping me to understand more about my thyroid problems. Since I have increased the dose to 12mcg more than before(now 100mcg) every other day, I experience anxiety on the days with a higher dose. How should I handle this symptom? Does my body get used to the new dose?I take the medication early morning on empty stomach and anxiety starts in 1/2 hr. and stays with me all the morning.It is bad. I feel i'm not myself. Pls. advise.Thanks

If you are in the right dose of levothyroxine you should not have anxiety from that. The point of taking levothyroxine is to be symptom free. Anxiety can be caused byany other factors such as low vitamin levels. Check thyroid hormone levels are correct with a blood test 6 weeks after dose increase. Adjust if needed and rule out other factors that could cause anxiety.

Take your levothyroxine in 2 separate doses morning and night. It might be that your body doesn't like so many hormones in one go.

For me anxiety was a sign of under medication but we are all different.

Common problem

Testing vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels and making sure they are optimal can help

Trying splitting the levothyroxine dose in two. Take half when wake and half before bed

Getting bloods tested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase
