Carbimazole Am I now hypothyroid!

Hello my TSH is now up (within last month) to 6.2 in range but my FT4 is below range to 9.2 (12-22) and this stayed level while my TSH rose

I’m now off carbimazole.

I previously went into range for TSH and FT4 almost two years ago but then remission over a year ago.

Now concerned will be hypo forever.

Am diagnosed with Graves. My D3 is in range.

Any advice? Did I stay on carbimazole too long?

Thanks for your guidance.

UPDATE

I have added my full results now.

A week after the above my TSH and FT4 moved to normal. FT4 was low in range and TSH was high in range. Now a month later I have received the below.

My TSH has lowered and so has my FT4!

And advice please?

Suggest you get full thyroid and vitamin testing

It can take very long time for TSH to recover.....sometimes it remains stuck at zero

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have Graves or autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's)

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

If/when on levothyroxine....Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

For thyroid including antibodies and vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
