Hi I started combination treatment 3 months ago for a trial as I was living with so many symptoms of hypo while being within range. I have found that it has helped with quite a few symptoms but has also gave me some hyper symptoms. I'm at a loss and just don't know what to do.

Combination treatment
Your last post was three years ago - so wondering if you have recent test results to share. Maybe a small tweak is needed. How much T4 and T3 are you taking ?
What do you call 'hyper symptoms'? It's very difficult to divide symptoms into 'hyper' and 'hypo' because so many of them cross over. However, it could be that you are having hypo and hyper symptoms during the time it takes for the T3 to take effect, because some cells could be getting too much, whilst others get none at all. But, it should even out with time.
Can you add your most recent thyroid and vitamin results from BEFORE Starting on T3
And presumably you have had new test results since?
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking?
Is it always the same brand
Same question for T3
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
You may need to get full Thyroid testing privately as NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are negative
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third of dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

For thyroid including antibodies and vitamins
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3 £29 (via NHS private service )

3 years ago your vitamin D, folate and B12 were borderline low
Hi guys sorry it's been a while. My symptoms changed after a few months on T3 t4 , I felt more anxious my bowls were all over the place my heart beat was more jumpy on occasion. My last app with endo said my T4 was fine and my T3 was very high, but because I'd persisted for the T3 saying I'm not wanting to just go by blood results but more my symptoms he said to stay on T3 and if I start to feel like shit come off it. Due to the problems with prescription at chemist due to covid19 I didn't have my T3 for 4 days so I ve since went back to just my T4 . My vit d level has since been sorted so I'm told, my b12 after a few injections was sorted so I'm told but this was a wee while ago. I don't have recent results to share with u. I'm so scunnererd with it all. I feel tired ,achy , no up and go for anything, and my legs are swollen so much so they feel like tree trunks. I've seen lymphedema clinic they say it's not lymphedema , it's non pitting except in 2 wee spots just below my knee cap and just between my lower leg going into foot . I m so fed up x
