My TSH is 10.79..my T3 and T4 are on the floor.. She has at least referred me to an endo but she said until my appointment comes through could I take 100mg levo one day then 50gm another day I'm on 75mg been on this for about 5 days got up today with hives scratching all night 😣 is it OK to do the 100mg then change to 50gm the next day??

I’m not an expert but I don’t see the point of that. It seems exactly the same as 75 a day! Surely it should be 100 every day and then retest after 6-8 weeks? Might it not be possible to get another appointment with the GP?
Em, are you sure the nurse didn't mean 100 one day and 75 the next? Cos otherwise it doesn't make any sense at all!! Agree with others should be up to 100 a day.
I've been on 5 types since my TT In may last year having real problems on levo with bowle/stomach issues I have reactive colitis also gone up from 50gm to 75mg got up yesterday with hives scratching all night now have tremors again.. Was lowered from 125gm in May because my surgeon saw hyper symptoms same with 100mg and 75mg I go hyper and my symptoms escalate.. I'm seeing an endo so hopefully I'll get some answers to other meds I can take I'm really bad on synthetic meds.. 😣😣
What brands, what is the name on the packaging? I cannot tolerate Mercury Pharma or Teva brand. I cannot tolerate acacia powder in the fillers. I am OK with Almus/Actavis which will become NorthStar!

Not quite correct.
Almus and NorthStar are Actavis with just a different packaging.
Actavis is now Accord (or will be when all packaging has been rebranded) so Almus and NorthStar will also be Accord except for NorthStar 25mcg which is Teva.
See helvella 's post, second reply down in this thread:
Not a good idea to mix brands. I always used to cut tablets to get the correct dose all of same brand. So Actavis/Almus only do 50mcgm and 100mcgm, so when I was on 125mcgm I would cut a 50mcgm tablet in half. Swapping and changing so many times and then taking more than one brand is not helpful. Your GP is not helpful at all and you are definitely under treated. Have you got any results for vitamins B12, D, folate, ferritin, iron? What about antibody tests TPO and TgAb. If you have raised antibodies then you should think about a gluten free diet.
A lot of information to absorb and confusing but read some of seaside Susie's posts and also slowdragon. helvella has information about the different brands of tablets.
Is there a brand you haven’t had issues with? If so stick with it. Ask your doctor to name the successful one one your prescription so you get it every time.
All thyroid tablets have fillers in them to bulk then up and keep them stable. The tablets have a few fillers in each type and we can be allergic to one or more. If you aren’t sure if that’s the issue then take an antihistamine one hour before and if that stops the issue then you have an allergy and need to change to a different brand. It might need more than one change as more than one filler in each tablet but once you find one that works then ask GP to name it on prescription and make sure Pharmacist put in on the notes about you.
Be aware though they don’t always read your notes so always check before you leave the room. They will change it and hopefully apologise but one you have left the pharmacist they won’t, the reasoning being you could have contaminated it or damaged it in some way. So just step back from the counter and check it’s what you need and not a substitute.
I'm pretty sure it's the levo tablet I came off them for a week and the pain swelling running to the loo stopped as soon as I went bk on them it all started again I've been on 5 types all gave me bad symptoms.. I was the same on the anti thiyroid meds rushed to hospital with server bowle/stomach issues honestly I look pregnant I'm tender in the bowels and their inflamed I'm not good with synthetic medicines theirs a lot I cannot take 😣
