I find the only toothpaste that doesent cause me mouth ulcers or a sore irritated tongue is the original red tubes of Colgate which you can buy quite cheaply from Superdrug or pound stores etc.theres an ingredient in the other toothpastes that isn’t in Colgate but I’m so sorry my memory of it has been lost,
I actually lost all my teeth after second baby never quite knew reasons but dentist used to take them out in batches right side then left side then bottom then top, very distressing at the time,it all started with having impacted wisdoms removed after which I suffered severe jaw pain so he kept taking the teeth on whichever side out, very annoying after having paid thousands to have them all crowned at the front.
Anyway I’m blathering on so I’d suggest Colgate .good luck
I would say it is worth it, yes. Not just if you're hypo, but for everybody. Fluoride is industrial waste, so how can it not cause harm?
I tried a fluoride free one for a bit a few years ago. It made my gums sore and I couldn’t keep using it. I think it was called Neem. Recommended by Dr Myhill. And it didn’t seem to make a difference to how I felt using it anyway. Just my experience.
I use Kingfisher Fluoride-Free Fennel Toothpaste. I think it helps reduce my mouth ulcer problem.

I've bought it from Holland & Barrett. I think I've seen it in Waitrose. And of course it is easily sourced online.
Regarding fluoride and the effects on the teeth I found this article many years ago, and then later found it in the internet archive when it disappeared. I consider it to be well worth reading :
Personally yes, I use fluoride free Aloe Dent
Have I noticed a difference.....probably not
I like Dr Bronners cinnamon toothpaste but it's hard to get - you can also spend hours reading the outside of the tube if you have, um, toilet problems. Currently I have Himalaya Neem and Pomegranate Toothpaste which seems OK. I dislike the taste of mint.
