Hi All, I have underactive thyroid with anti-bodies (thyroid is normal). I've been having a number of symtoms, tiredness, tingling all over really, muscle fatigue and numbness in arms and hands (on and off for as long as I can remember), new symptom of a quivering feeling above my lip took me to the doctors. GP requested repeats of renal+bone profile and serum folate. Nothing has been right since being diagnosed with underactive thyroid. Can this all be linked to thyroid?
Abnormal renal and bone profile and serum folat... - Thyroid UK
Abnormal renal and bone profile and serum folate blood test. Anything to do with hashimoto's?

The symptoms you describe could possibly be down to low nutrient levels. Hashi's can cause low nutrient levels or deficiencies. It would be a good idea to test:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
When you have the results, post them on the forum with their reference ranges plus units of measurement for Vit D and B12.
Hi SeasideSusie thank you for your swift response. I am kind of hoping it's related to thyroid because I don't want to have an additional problem (if that makes sense). I'm not 100% sure but I think they were covered in the bloods I had taken definitely vit D and B12, there was about 12 things so it was quite thorough. It was renal and bone profile and serum folate blood test that came back abnormal to be repeated. I hope to get to the bottom of it as I am so exhausted. I will keep you posted, thank you.
Hi Scrumbler, thank you for your response. It's all a puzzle. What symtoms did you have that made seek out a neurologist. GP has also referred me to neuro, I'm now hoping that it isn't needed.
Thank you Scumbler,
No such thing as a late reply, i really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
I had a call from GP surgery. GP wants to speak to me re serum folate (other tests must be ok). Many of my symtoms go back 20 years plus, always put down to stress and depression so I never bothered going until I developed a funny sensation in my left leg (feels like static running through my leg) and internal shaking in half of my top lip and the tired tongue re-appeared. Low serum folate can cause neuro symtoms, but that wouldn't explain all the years passed.
I hope to find an answer soon as sometimes I'm unable to work and I'm self-employed. Today I've got up to go to work and will have to go back to bed before I consider it.
Sorry for the ramble
