Enlarged Lymph node

I had a total thyroidectomy over a year ago because of hashimoto disease. For some months now I have noticed a swelling on the right side of my neck right next to my saliva gland. I had a doctors visit just a few days ago and mention it to NP. She checked it out and said that it felt like my saliva gland was a little swollen but didn't feel any lymph nodes. I really wasn't okay with her brushing me off as if nothing was wrong, so I guess you can say she sense that. To make a long story short, she ordered a CT scan with contrast. The result of the test showed that I have an enlarge 2.0 cm right level 2A lymph node. I can't tell you just how scared I am at this point. I'm scheduled for biopsy on December 6th. I really don't know what to expect, but I am praying for the best. Has anyone else had something like this to happen?

It's best to try not to worry. Chances are that it's nothing serious and just a blockage but you're doing the right thing to get it checked out. I had a lump on thyroid that turned out to be thyroid cancer but it's treatable and it was a long time ago so as you realise - I'm still here. I know it's a worrying time when undergoing biopsies. Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for your concern, I'm going to try not to worry, I'm not sure of what kind of ultrasound as of now. I was told that they will be getting some of the tissues to send to pathology. I'm hoping it is nothing major. Thanks again, I really do appreciate you.
