Your thoughts.......part 2

The responses to part 1 were incredible and extremely helpful in enabling me to better understand the potential risks of having RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism. As some of you may know, I am actively involved with the AF Association forum which is significantly smaller than this one. However, like most forums, there is a tendency to hear more from people with bad experiences/issues because those who have responded well to treatment are off and away enjoying life and the very best of good luck to them!

To put that into context, there are around 1.3 million folk in the UK diagnosed with AF, but the forum has just 18,000 members, so in very loose terms, that suggests that over 99% of those diagnosed, for whatever reason, have not felt the need to use the forum. This is a bit of a long winded way of asking if there is anyway of quantifying how many thyroid patients here have actually been more fortunate and have benefitted from successful, life changing results from having RAI treatment. I hope this makes sense and I thank you for your patience.
