Estrogel and fat thighs!

Hi Guys, just wanted to know if anybody else has the same problem with Estrogel. I went on it about 4 years ago and noticed a gradual weight gain in my thighs, bum and stomach, then about 5 months ago I noticed lumpy fat deposits on my thighs (which look awful), I couldn't understand why this was happening, but it was getting worse. I eat quite healthy meals and am reasonably active. I started doing some research and found out that Estrogen can cause fat deposits on these areas-great! That's never mentioned as a side affect. The worse news is that it's hard to get rid off, my thighs feel really lumpy and chaffe. I've now come off Estrogel and trying to cope with the flushes again.

This forum is for people with thyroid disorders. You don't mention anything about having a thyroid disorder, so I'm wondering if you have joined the wrong community.

Hi Pengragon1, just wondering if you ever got any more responses to this in the other forum? I have also found this with being on Estrogel. In fact I only used it for 6/7 days a couple of months ago and it happened almost immediately. On the thighs but also hips and tummy. I stopped using it as couldn't tolerate the other side effects (headaches, blood sugar swings, mood swings) breast pain and swelling) but it hasn't shifted since. Just wondering if that was others' experience too.

I am also on levothyroxine so wondered if weight gain is also a side effect of that (which seems to be the case for some people on this forum) but it was most noticeable after being on the Estrogel (I regret going on it!)
