My life in room 1408

Has anyone seen that horror movie 1408. I feel like I'm in that seen where he spends like a few weeks dreaming hes out of the room but then hes still there. After feeling depressed and anxious basically for the last 20 years, I had a week of happiness on 25 mcg of levothyroxine but then it wore off or turned on me and I became an anxious insomniac. Good vibes!

I haven't seen the film, no, but I can imagine the feeling. But, are you still on 25 mcg levo? After 20 years? That would be a horror film in itself.

No I just started it like two weeks ago. I just felt alive again. So energetic like when I was a kid. It was like a miracle. I'm on 50 mcg and having insomnia and anxiety. I think I'm very sensitive to it. I dont know. Maybe I'll just sneak into endicronology school and learn about this stuff. I'm tired of fighting all the time. But at least that week gave me great hope that I'm closer to a solution. Possibly???

I'm sure you are. But, with hormones we have to start low and increase slowly.

You'll probably learn more by reading on here than you would in endocrinology school! :)

I think its possible my body has just been running on adrenaline for a long time and just freaked out when it actually got what it needed for once.

That's possible, yes.

Have you heard any stories like mine?

Yes, one hears a lot of stories like yours. And numerous variations. The problem is doctors' ignorance of thyroid symptoms and treatment.

Do you know if you've had your antibodies tested? TPOab or something like that?

in reply to greygoose

No I dont think I've had antibodies tested. I'm getting tested for hashimoto's in a few weeks but I feel like that should've been done already.

in reply to

I dont know what TPOab is.

I need a drink right now but I've heard that's bad for the thyroid...I've been up for 24 hours straight. Its probably because I tried 75 mcg the last few days

Depends what sort of drink. I don't know that it's bad for the thyroid, but your alcohol tolerance may be lower, now. But, all things in moderation.

Your insomnia could be because you tried to increase too quickly, yes. Or it could just be your body adapting to having thyroid hormone again. In any case, you need to stay for at least six weeks on any given dose before trying to increase to give your body time to adapt.

TPOab are Hashi's antibodies. So, if you're going to get them done, that's ok. Yes, it should have been done straight away, but the NHS just doesn't do that, I'm afraid.

in reply to greygoose

NHS? I'm in the United states.

Anyways I deeply appreciate you and any information you can pass on to me to help figure this out or if you could help me find some body really similar.
