Is this an allergic reaction

My place of work had to be treated for fleas after a number of us sustained bites (work requires some colleagues to visit some fairly dire homes)

I have two on my foot, one if each leg and two on my stomach.

They are settling down now (‘ were red, painful and very itchy’) but last night I noticed a raised, red rash on my forehead and a few individual red spots on my face.

I’m not usually susceptible to spots or rashes. Could this be related - I’ve been ‘itching’ with the bites since Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks

I think it is very possible as some of these 'mites' may be invisable to the human eyes and it's not until our skin reacts that we realise it could be due to an insect bite.

Taking an anti-histamine tablet may help reduce irritations.

Do you know if they were human fleas or animal fleas? If they are human fleas they are easily transferred to your home via clothing. Human fleas lies dormant during the day time and then 'awake' at night with the warmth of human bodies. They hide behind the headboard, around edges of carpet or skirting board. You might find them if you carefully check around a bed. It's worth checking in case you are getting new bites.

Hi Nanaedake - we’ve all been bitten during the day, while at work so seems likely to be animal fleas.

I’ve read human fleas are rare in industrialised/developed areas - I hope so!!!!

The building where we work was empty for a long time - we couldn’t use the lavatories or any water for weeks due to Legionaries - that can’t have helped 🙄

Oh good, if you're being bitten day time it sounds like animal fleas which are easier to get rid of.
