When on NDT, as it contains T3 then it's essential to test FT3. Taking NDT (or T3) tends to lower TSH and FT4 so it's the FT3 result that is the most important.
The last time I was tested for FT3 is 04/16/2019 and the results then were Free T31.4 pg/mL2.3 - 4.1 pg/mL. Based on your comment I should request it be included on all the bloodwork, yes?
So your FT3 was 1.4 (2.3 - 4.1). Presumably your meds were increased at that point, to address the fact that it was below range and you were very under-medicated? It should then have been retested to check its progress and see if you needed a further dose increase.

Absolutely, every time. I don't understand how a doctor who is prescribing NDT doesn't know how important the FT3 test is.
Hi ilovecruises, I have just gone back and skimmed some of your old posts and remembered you are the person who had a TT and feels well at very low hormone doses.
It helps a lot if you give some background, a more complete history of blood tests, and a specific question you want to ask. In response to this set of bloods I think you've got the only comment people can give - you need to see freeT3 when taking NDT. But members might say something more detailed than that if you ask a specific question.
Hi SilverAvocado! The test results listed is all that I had. I only really wanted a gauge of what other's feel about the results and the information provided about the T3 is very helpful. However, I do appreciate what you said and will comprise a more thoughtful post in the future.
I started as you stated from a TT and several posts so or have all of the information but in different places. I wish there were breadcrumbs or a link of some sort that would allow for folks to see the beginning of the story when a new post is submitted to gain a full picture without having to go completely out of the current post and perhaps there is but I just haven't found it yet.
Unfortunately it's quite a lot of work to trawl back through older posts to give advice. Some members will still do this, but it's asking a lot, and most people replying won't do it.
The best solution is for the person writing the post to do the work themselves, and include everything relevant to their case in the post.
The advice you get is only as good as the information that's put in front of the people giving the advice!
