Dr Kendrick on Statins. Stop press!
Dr Kendrick is always good value and well worth reading.
He once mentioned he would take up the thyroid battle once he had sorted out statins - surely that time has come ...
Might be a whole lifetime of work, unfortunately
Reminds me of one of those never ending tasks set by the Greek gods!
Sisypus?
Very good. Dr. Kendrick is brilliant and he is sticking his head above the parapet.
He is bang on, have you seen he was interviewed by De mercola too?
Also Dr Aseem Malhotra is bearing the same drum.
Sadly statins are still being pushed as doctors are still incentivised and haven’t heard
They will never stop.
Now saying that they are producing an injectable statin given every 6 months "for greater convenience" (and boy do people like convenience!) and apparently it has less side effects than oral statins.
They reckon it will be available in two years.

I lowered mine through increased exercise, although this might not be for everybody.
Also there is this thing that statins are not so effective on older women and work better with men? I'm not prepared to take the risk after seeing how they affected my late mother.
Yes I have heard this too - scary! and just another 278 Vaccines in the pipeline too.
Wonder how much GP’s will be bunged for this?
Sorry to be doom and gloom on a Sunday morning but take a look at Mike Adams last words - cannot share it, censorship is at its worst.
Exercise certainly works for lowering cholesterol spongecat .
It certainly does! In fact my GP was astonished how much it reduced in three months. Previously he had threatened to put me on Atorvastatin and I flatly refused telling him that I wanted to give the exercise route a chance and he agreed and then test my levels again three months later.
Doctors fail to be aware of any clinical symptoms which should resolve as dose of hormones are slowly increased, i.e. a higher cholesterol is but one. They are also willing to prescribe anything but a decent dose of thyroid hormones.
Exactly. There are notable and shining exceptions, but mostly....

He wrote his one and only thyroid blog post over four years ago now, which is depressing. I had hoped he would pick up the baton and run with it, but sadly not. But what he did write was bang on.
Didn't know it was that long ago, and the only post! Surprising since he is a cardiologist (I think he is anyway) and both hypo and hyperthyroidism can affect the heart.
Beam in on dr .john bergman on YouTube . Re his thinkings on statins and thyroid issues ,very informative ,thinks out of the square , but not Cranky or after your dosh ...v .interesting
I'm not good on watching videos, but will have a look. A lot depends on the person's voice too. One good speaker I tried to listen to had such a strange accent that I just couldn't!
Jnetti ,he easy to follow honest !!, bet you get hooked on his vids (Not the normal dross)Sawdog
It’s okay ..it’s a short and to the point interview!
Thank you for posting. My doc persuaded me to start statins but after some research came to same conclusion so never took them plus I found I should really have fasted before blood test.
What is scandalous is the cost to the NHS of statins, antacids such as Omeprazole and daresay other stuff promoted by pharmaceuticals. Plus the fact that the companies hold us to ransom.
I needed occasional omeprazole (about twice a week or so) but stopped soon after starting thyroxine (the leaflet with the tablets said it was best not to take them - or consult your doctor or, so no quibbling about stopping).
I found that I didn't need them as much anyway, and now just have an occasional Gaviscon tablet (well away from Levo). Often I only need half a Gaviscon and have to spit out the rest. Maybe I should try cutting them in half!
Oh wow, thanks for posting this. I was on statins last year for only 2 months and I was so ill with side effects I came off them. Sounds like I was not the only one!
I was on them for several years, though it took a bit of adjusting because some caused side effects (like a stiff neck and HEAD! That was really weird, how can you have a stiff head???) But what I've read, especially from folks on here, and Dr Kendrick's book "The Great Cholesterol Con", convinced me to give up. One thing he said was that the only group for whom there's some evidence of being helped by statins is men (not women) who've had a heart attack! And even then it is not the lowering of cholesterol but some other mechanism.
