i asked a previous gp for copy of my thyroid function test result and you know what he said: - ' WHY? ...it wont mean anything to you .' and tgat really got my goat up. So jumping ahead 3 years later...I can tell you with confidence that I have a Large multinodular goiter to level of sternal notch. No definate retrosternal extention phemptertons negative, no respiratory stridor or obstruction. No cancer detected. But there is noncontrast diagnostic ct scan recommendation on the clinical report to assess any narrowing of the trachea and any other obstruction. And since that wasnt done for some reason. -I'm asking for it to be done. Because that's the only thing that's worrying me at the moment.and its most likely the one reason i would take surgery. My thoughts are with you. X

You know what ?
You are entitled to a copy of your blood results because it is the law ... your doctor should know this if not remind him and ask for a copy. You are also allowed to view your medical records online and I have recently viewed my medical records which go back 10 years. Some doctors think they are god - well they are not and they are just the same as me and you the only difference is they have been to medical school and qualified as a doctor. Don't let your doctor stop you from getting the treatment you need - I went untreated for several years and ended up bedridden!
They're the ones in the chair with the wheels on reading what treatment you need. You're the one sitting in a chair without wheels clutching your bag. I've started to stand up now behind them and they say 'oh if you really want to know' and they tilt the screen. Its really hard to read a computer monitor standing up behind a doctor, so I get a printed copy now. Love x
Cheeky sod! How dare he! Looking on this site, they don’t mean much to most GPs either! What a condescending tw*t! 🤸🏿♀️🥛

That's exactly why we always suggest asking the receptionist. Doctors just don't like patients knowing or understanding and it's just not worth listing to their condescending comments. Just ask the receptionist.
This is what usually happens here:-
Hello, I am ringing for my results
Yes, they are back but the doctor has not read them....
This carries on for up to 10 days when I politely but firmly ask for someone to go and stick them under the GPs nose, and that I will ring tomorrow.
Hello, I am ringing for my results
Deep sign from the receptionist and "oh, you are THAT one!"
I agree I am THAT one, and can I have the results please?
They then read out just the TSH and try and get rid of me. I have to keep prompting to get the T4 and T3. I then usually get told that the the GP would like to talk to me about the low TSH (I am on NDT) and will ring me. He never does.
I think its best to go there with a big stick sometimes - just to wake them up.
Just make sure you've got a limp to go with it.
...by the way - what's NTD ?
