Interesting indeed. Phrases: “....have largely been overlooked” and “The scientists were surprised at the findings because it has long been believed...” we’re likely to read one day when “they” finally realise “their” dogma about the thyroid disfunction can no longer be supported 🙂
I was taught that Shwann cells' only function was to insulate and protect the nerves, like the casing on electric cables, but it seems they were moonlighting as ….signal boosters? ...transformers? ...Capacitors?
What is this going to do to the belief held by so many psychiatrists and doctors that chronic pain is all in the mind and isn't "real".
I've read a few times in the last year or two that some doctors and researchers believe chronic pain isn't real and people just need CBT to get over it. People have had pain meds taken off them as a result of this sadism, particularly in the US where there is the hysteria about everyone on pain meds being an addict who can't be trusted.
This is really interesting. I suffer from provoked nerve pain, so it's exciting that they have found another potential cause, that could lead to a cure!
