Am I Hypo?

What you do have is autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's which is suggested by your over range TPO and Tg antibodies. This is where the immune system attacks and gradually destroys your thyroid. It hasn't yet taken your TSH over range - which is normally required for a diagnosis - but your FT4 is below range which should be good enough for your doctor to agree to a prescription for levothyroxine if you have symptoms. However, you already know this from replies to your last post here

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Did you get full vitamin panel tested as suggested there?

Other results I have are

25 Hydroxyvitamin D2 level 5.0 nmol/L

25 Hydroxyvitamin D3 level 91.9 nmol/L

Serum ferritin 17 ( 13_ 150.0 )

Serum cholesterol 5.5 nmol/L ( 0.0 - 4.0 )

Serum LDL cholesterol 2.94 ( 0.0 - 2.0 )

Total white cell count 3.9 ( 4.0 _ 11.00 )

Serum vitamin B12 normal 1025 ng/L ( 197.0- 1999 )

Your total Vit D is 96.9. The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L so yours is pretty much there.

Serum ferritin 17 ( 13_ 150.0 )

This is dire and low ferritin suggests iron deficiency anaemia. You should ask your GP to do a full blood count and iron panel to check this.

Your cholesterol is most likely high due to being Hypo.

Low white blood cell count can be due to a viral infection but also can be due to autoimmune disorders (and your Hashi's is autoimmune).

Serum B12 is at a good level.

Seasidesusie ,

Thanks for all your help . I am going to email my Endocrinologist and see if I get anywhere .

Thanks again

In the real world, yes, very - and you have Hashi's. Under the NHS you'd probably find it difficult to get a doctor to diagnose you - they like the TSH to read 10, don't understand the significance of under-range FT4/3, and think antibodies are meaningless. Sad, but true.

grey goose ,

Do you think I email my results to my Endocrinologist ? . Sorry as I am just unsure how or if to proceed . Medichecks advised that I repeat the test in three months time .

Thank you so much for your time , much appreciated

If this was your first ever thyroid test, then it's normal to retest in three months. However, that won't change the fact that you have Hashi's, even if the antibodies do come back lower. So, yes, send the results to your endo.

Have you already seen the endo? What did he say when you saw him?

Hi greygoose ,

I got discharged from my Endocrinologist in September 2018 and referred back to my GP .

Thanks again .

Yes, sorry, I should have reread your past posts before replying.

Did you ever get your TRAB or TSI tested? Because you are now very hypo. Are you taking anything?

greygoose ,

No medication and no to TSI and TRAB got tested back in may 2015 and that's what diagnosed my Graves Disease .

Thank you so much

OK I thought I understood from your last post that neither had been done. So, you really need some thyroid hormone replacement, at the moment. So, you ought to be referred back to the endo. Your FT4 is very, very low.

Not what you're looking for?
