I have always been a little skeptical about the diagnosis of adrenal fatigue, but with a swollen hand from a hornet sting and red streaks growing up my arm, my doctor prescribed prednisone. I don't feel good on it - I feel shaky, but my energy has improved so much. My doctor told me if I suffer from adrenal fatigue, I'd feel great on this stuff and I have to think my reaction helps to confirm a diagnosis of adrenal fatigue. So now what? I can't stay on prednisone...My thyroid numbers are perfect. I supplement everything suggested. I've stopped eating wheat. Does anyone have a success story with adrenal fatigue?

I think the first thing you should do is find out the state of your adrenals which will tell you if they need any kind of supplementation. It's not something you can guess at.
Best test is a 24 hour saliva cortisol plus DHEA test. Regenerus and Genova Diagnostics do this test and you will have to name ThyroidUK as your practioner.
Regenerus thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/r...
Genova thyroiduk.org/tuk/testing/g... (test code END01)
Regenerus email you direct and you go to your online account with them for the results.
Genova email the results to ThyroidUK who then send results on to you.
Make sure that you list what hormones, etc, you are taking. I know Regenerus has a section on their form for this and you would mention the Prednisolone.
Yes, I should have mentioned that I have had various tests for cortisol - including the Genova test - and they always show my levels are elevated. My endo always dismissed this as a slight elevation indicating some stress. My wellness doc had me take DHEA and some adrenal support supplement but they make little difference in how I feel - exhausted. Especially in summer. It's not as bad when I work during the school year. I speculate I need a certain amount of stress to feel normal.
