Ok, it’s been 3 weeks since my doctor raised my synthroid to 125mcg from 112mcg. Before changing dose my tsh was at 5.1 now 3 weeks after the dose increase after feeling anxious and depressed I got some bloodwork and my tsh is at 12! Wth!! I take my medication properly, atleast 1 hour before breakfast everyday! What’s going on here!

Well, for a start, you tested too soon. That increase in dose has not yet been fully processed in your body. It takes at least six weeks, if not eight.

Were both test done under the same conditions: early morning and fasting?

Do you have Hashi's?

Yes I have hashis, but I still don’t understand why I’m more hypo with a dose increased.

greygoose is correct Ralph - blood tests are every six weeks following the advice re testing.

My blood work when I was on 112mcg was

Tsh 5.55 Ranges 0.34 - 5.60

Total t4 7.82 Ranges 6.09 - 12.23

Total t3 1.11. Ranges 0.83 - 1.78

Now 3 weeks into 125 mcg I only have this to show but it’s not better is worse.

Tsh 12.300. Ranges 0.358 - 3.740

Free t4 1.0. Ranges 0.8 - 1.5

I do t have anything else to show because those were taken at a hospital visit because of how bad I was feeling

I go through about 8 - 10 weeks of horrible symptoms whenever we change my dose of Synthroid. Regardless of whether we are raising it or lowering it, my hormones go nuts and I get ill, anxious, depressed, irritable, etc. for a good 8 weeks. I hate it, but it's a necessary evil and now that I know it will pass it's easier to deal with. Yes, I have had my blood tests come back reading the opposite of what we expected, but a few weeks later they normalize. It was too soon for you to test again, and the symptoms of changing doses are sometimes very uncomfortable, but they will pass.

Thats good to hear at least I get some peace of mind. Yeah I didn’t tested my self those test was at the er since I went to the hospital feeling really bad, horrible depression symptoms, just general malice. I called my Endo and schedule a visit for this coming Wednesday and was going to take him my test results from the hospital. But now idk because maybe he will raise it again and I’ll start feeling worse from zero
