BP drops after standing up

Hi. My BP drops after standing up. I have low BP, averaging around 100/60 in the morning. I have Hashimoto's and Type 1 diabetes. I'm on 25 mcg T3 three times a day and 25 mcg T4 once a day. I also take Low Dose Naltrexone and insulin. I feel unwell with nebulous pain and fatigue. I plan on taking a cortisol saliva test next week. What does this BP reading show me about the state of my adrenals? It can go as low as 70/50 after I stand up as it did this morning.

Thanks in advance.

This is called"postural hypotension". There is a paper here which describes it in detail and suggests treatments.

This was part of a test for low adrenal reserve that I was given by Dr P 2 years ago. Turns out my adrenals were knackered and I had to take Adrenavive. Later on, I went onto 5mg of prednisone.

Do you also crave salt and sugary things? Salt is the main one for adrenal issues. It is also a good idea to take your basal temperature every day to see if that's low, too.

I take my temp. It's low at 36.2 in the morning. It rises as the day progresses.

I have no cravings fot salt or sugar.

I have the same, mine drops then keeps dropping, very unstable. I've just had Cosrtisol test done as I have most of the symptoms of Adrenal Insufficiency.

Have you had thyroid levels checked since starting on T3?

How long have you been on this dose T3?

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Vitamin levels need to be optimal too.

Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested at all....recently?

As you have Hashimoto's and type one diabetes are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Recommend reading Susan Blum book ....the autoimmune recovery plan

Chapter about type one diabetes

Lots info on Hashimoto's

I had my blood tests done on this dose and have suppressed tsh, high ft3, low ft4, low rt3.

I'll look into a comprehensive vitamin blood test.

I'm carb free, so no gluten.

I'll look into the book. Cheers.

I was getting exactly this. Plus my heart going like the clappers!

I have famously low blood pressure anyway, so I know not to stand up too quickly , but this waas ridiculous!

It's pretty well resolved after a week on Holy Basil twice a day and half an Adrenavive 2 in the morning.

Hey, I had this. Mine was so bad, that I couldn't queue in the shop, spent two months in bed. For me my ft3 was too high and cortisol also.

Have you checked out your *Electrolytes* ? You might want to try some Celtic Sea Salt and see if that helps you .

Will try it. Thanks
