Ranges needed, often in brackets after the result.

Example: Ft3 5.3 (3.8 - 6.8)

🙂

What your bloods mean depends on what your asking? 😬 Are you medicated? Do you feel well or symptomatic?

Hello Paula,

I’m confused how I feel. I’m tired when I wake up in the mornings and the fact that I can’t lose weight really makes me depressed. My fave feels puffy and I’m really bloated..... so yeah.....

Do you have a diagnosis? Are you medicated? Have you had Vits and minerals tested?

Just read your other replies. Just reign it in a bit. Drop down by half a grain and see how you feel?

HI fistpummp

Interpretation of your results will be different depending on whether or not you have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism and whether or not you take any thyroid replacement hormone.

Can you please tell us so we can help.

All that can be said at the moment is that if you have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism and you're on thyroid replacement hormone then these results:

FT3 -4.34 (1.5-4.2)

FT4 - 1.46. (0.89- 1.77)

TSH - 0.008 (0.4-4.1)

show possibly slight overmedication due to the over range FT3.

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested? Also Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin?

Hello Sussie.

I’m on naturethroid and I take 2 grains in the morning and 1 grain in the evening. Yeah I was diagnosed in 2013. I was ok for a while but I fell off the bandwagon and now I don’t know how to get back on

I checked for anti bodies and they are negative. Yes I take vitamin D B12 folate and ferritin.

Thanks so much for your response

I’m on naturethroid and I take 2 grains in the morning and 1 grain in the evening.

In that case, taking NDT tends to lower, even suppress TSH, which it has. It also tends to lower FT4 and yours is 65% through range which, along with your slightly over range FT3, I would think you might be slightly overmedicated and it would be worth trying a slightly lower dose of NDT. Try reducing by 1/4 of a grain and see how you are in 6-8 weeks time.

Yes I take vitamin D B12 folate and ferritin.

As you are taking supplements, what doses are you taking and what are your current results?

I haven’t tested the supplements though...

So are you taking Vit D, B12, folate and ferritin without ever testing to see what your levels were before you started?

fistpummp profile image
fistpummp in reply toSeasideSusie

Yeah coz I’m my country all those tests aren’t available and if they are they are really expensive and it isn’t covered by insurance

The problem is, you need to know the levels and dose accordingly. Too much Vit D and iron is toxic, and supplementing without needing it is wasting money.

Thank you so much. I will work on getting those tests done
