As I had small amount of the ThG antibodies over the range on a couple of ocassions I was led to believe I had hashimotto, my Peroxidase antibodies have always been in range
However then discovered here that it is the Perox antibodies that governs if you are Hashi ...........(apologies if spellings incorrect).
Now looking at Medichecks results the doctor report remarks I most likely have hashimotto due to the THG antibodies over range so am Confused obviously ?
My Endo appointment was cancelled in Feb and nothing heard until last week to,say I will have a telephone conversation appointment this Thursday instead!
So will be useful to have all my facts in place if can be cleared up really grateful
Thanks

Can you give the exact numbers, please: results and ranges? Just telling us it's slightly over-range tells us nothing.
It depends how high your TgAB are. If just a tad over-range, it could be due to a number of things. But if very high, it's likely to be Hashi's. I don't have my numbers to hand, but my TgAB were ten times over the top of the range, so that's Hashi's. My TPOab were slightly over-range, too, so there's no doubt about it for me. But, some Hashi's people do have high TgAB and low TPOab. It all depends how high is high.
With TPO anything over-range is Hashi's, but not so with TgAB because it can be caused by other things, like B12 deficiency. But, your May 17 results are probably high enough to count as Hashi's.
Yes the b12 was really down at that time for sure - I don't know, it all seems a bit of a fine line, how come you can have any of the perox antibodies anyway? (in a range). Why are they allowed ?
Everybody has some antibodies in their blood, but not everybody has Hashi's. It's only if they are high that they indicated Hashi's. Worked on averages, I suppose. I don't really know.
🙃yes who makes these decisions My intuition said I wasn't Hashi but a few numbers over a range one time denotes a label, maybe there's tendency and in fact can be 'sometimes' not black & white ,🤷♀️ oh well, more important topics we've a little family baby arriving soon 🦋 ...Thanks
