Had an ultrasound scan and it showed multi nodules (largest 6x3mm) antibodies 124 (<34.00IU/ml)
All I know about on there is the TSH, and that is good. But, just testing the TSH is not adequate. You need FT4 and FT3 to know anything at all about your thyroid status.
The high antibodies mean you have Hashi's. It's possible that, at this point, you are still euthyroid. But, then again, it's possible that you have low thyroid hormones despite the good TSH. Are you on any thyroid hormone replacement? How do you feel?
No not on any medication, I feel awful, I have all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, but the past few weeks I just want to sleep all the time. Been referred to endocrinology but my appointment isn't until September!
Your TSH doesn't suggest hyperthyroidism. But, you have Hashi's, which means that levels jump around, and you could have high thyroid hormone levels from a recent Hashi's 'hyper' swing and the TSH hasn't caught up yet. This is why they should always, always test the FT4 and the FT3. But, their knowledge of thyroid is so limited that they don't do it. I would suggest getting full private testing, if you can, before seeing your endo, so you know what to discuss with him.
Ultrasound results
Both thyroid lobes are normal in size
Both thyroid lobes show bilateral small mainly hypoechoic nodules with central echogenicity.
The largest nodule is seen on the right side measuring 6x3mm with internal vascularity by colour doppler study.
There is a background of heterogeneous thyroid parenchymal pattern.
No enlarged deep cervical lymph nodes.
The thyroid isthmus is slightly thickened (4.8mm) showing no nodules.
This has got me all confused 😔
No thyroid hormone or thyroid antibody results, only TSH, so no help to anyone. However vitamin D is way too low for good health. No folate, B12 or ferritin results. You need TSH, free T3, free T4, TPO and TG antibodies tested at the same time, plus B12, folate, and ferritin (you already have a vit D result). Tests need to be done early in the morning, fasting or TSH appear too low and you need to stop any B vitamin or other supplements containing biotin at least 4 days before test as it affects the results
