Flying with Grave's disease

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone with Grave's disease has taken an airplane. I have heart palpitations and anxiety, so flying makes me more anxious. I was wondering how it did it go during the flight.

Thanks for the help :)

Your previous post suggests Hashimoto's rather than Graves

Antibodies test result at 600 looks like high TPO antibodies

For Graves' disease you should have also had TSI or TRab antibodies tested

Anxiety is also common hypothyroid symptom

Did you get full Thyroid and vitamin testing ?

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.

Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

Low vitamins are especially common with Graves and Hashimoto's. Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten.

So it's important to get TSI or TRab antibodies tested for Graves and TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested for Graves and Hashimoto's at least once .

It is possible to have Graves and Hashimoto's at same time.
