Hi there, yes I had mine done. There’s a couple of different techniques- shading and microblading, and they can vary it depending how natural looking you want them. Read reviews though first, preferably with pictures, as it is tattooing so its permanent, and you don’t want an unskilled artist. Mine were drawn on first to check if I was happy with shape, thickness, colour etc which was helpful. They do need a bit of care for two weeks afterwards, and will look quite dramatic at first. You will need a retouch every year to two years as they fade a bit over time. I am really happy I had it done, its surprising how much more youthful my face looks just by having eyebrows!

Eyebrow tattooing isn't actually permanent. It differs from regular tattooing in its use of thicker, less concentrated pigments, and in not going anywhere nearly as deep into the skin. Mine were done by a very well known tattoo artist who has a number of awards for her work especially in working with clients post-cancer and injury; yet have faded to virtually nothing now, a few years later.

Yes you are right, its classed as semi permanent, and obviously can’t go so deep as an arm tattoo as there is less flesh under the eyebrow. That’s why it needs topping up or I guess it will fade away like yours over time. But I think its right to be cautious as its on your face so maybe saying its permanent was technically wrong but its best regarded as that, you can’t just change your mind afterwards and say you don’t like the shape or whatever. So using a good artist is essential.

Thank you for your replies I have found someone who's work looks really good I've spoken to her she was honest and said it may not last as it should so it would be my choice if to go ahead knowing this, I think I will even if it does need topping up every 2 years I'd be happy with that... how was the healing with yours? she did say thyroid problem could make healing a bit longer? x

Mine healed fine, I followed the instructions to keep area dry, etc and it took less time than the two weeks they said. Pleased you found someone, I don’t wear make up every day and it makes such a difference.

I had mine done microbladed they look so real , and the best thing I’ve done , top up once a year and protect them with factor 50 on holiday. I don’t look like an alien any more , my eyebrows fell out and just never grew back , yes you are warned they may not last , mine have . I had 2 consultations as I was so nervous , but they’re fab .
