Hi everyone I went in on wed for total thiyroid removal and was home the next day..feel sore especially my fibro lying on a operating table for 5 hours don't do it much good..but now it's recovery time iv started on the levothroxine so crossing fingers it works for me thanks everyone for your replies and help in will still keep the site informed of my progress

I believe it is quite normal for many people to feel wonderful following a TT. I certainly did. BUT that feeling is unlikely to last very long. So, take good care of yourself and be prepared to adopt to your new circumstances.
It is possible that you will be asked if you want to have RAI ablation to eliminate completely the remnants of your thyroid in case it causes troubles. Highly recommended to NOT take up this offer!!!!!!
If you still continue to experience hypo symptoms such as fatigue the by all means get increases or even decreases to the levo you take. You are, however, unlikely to find a dose on which all you symptoms disappear at which stage you need to consider switching to NDT. The longer you leave it to change could leave you with problems that become permanent and will therefore NOT disappear.
Remember that there are a number of different things you can do to alleviate any remaining problems. There should be changes made to the recommended treatments given for each of the variety of hypo problems. Shoving everybody into the same basket where levo and TSH reign supreme is simply totally ridiculous.
