I’ve taken T3 for over 6 years when my thyroid was completely removed (no health issues at all).
They are not prescribing T3 anymore in Norfolk, so the GP is not interested, other than saying ‘buy it abroad’. The Endo route- also pointless, as they told me they can’t prescribe it either.
After 7 months without T3, im so tired, head constantly foggy, body always aching, anxious, I’m struggling to work and go about daily living. This may not be all T3 related and I’m applying for private blood tests that I’ve seen on here (my local GP just puts my Levo up by 25mg each visit whilst telling me my levels are ‘out of control’)!!!
If anyone has a valid source would you please send me a PM with details.
Thanks

If your thyroid gland was completely removed then you would need - at the very least (and I am not medically qualified) a T4/T3 combination.
I would also contact your local MP to complain and Thyroiduk have already met at the House of Lords to inform them that, without notice, people have had their lifegiving hormone removed without notice.
I would write to the House of Lords as well. The more complaints they get the better as it seems that nothing has yet been resolved.
The Scottish Parliament have agreed that people will be prescribed whatever makes them well, be it NDT, T3, T3/T4 or T4.
There are several support groups who went to the Lords.
It would appear to us on this forum that few - if any doctors - know how we feel without a thyroid hormone replacement which suits us, but to remove T3 of someone who has no thyroid gland without warning is so awful to contemplate.
No information is permitted on the forum of where to source T3 so I will close your post so that, if anyone has information, they will send you a private message.
