Only ordered yesterday came this morning, so planning for Monday, there is a prepaid I think envelope to send back, do others pay extra for next day delivery.
Medichecks, : Only ordered yesterday came this... - Thyroid UK
Medichecks,
Hi
I have never paid extra for next day delivery.
If you do the test early morning then post straight away, they usually receive it the next day.
Results usually come through the day after if you do not request their Doctor to comment, if you want the Doctor's comment it can take an extra day for the results.
Good luck.
Some people pay extra for special delivery (after 9.30am)
Some just post it off
Personally I always just post it, but I do put it in the main post office letter box
Only do the test on Mon-Wednesday and if testing thyroid levels, do test as early as possible in morning and fasting and last Levothyroxine dose 24 hours before blood test .
If on any supplements containing biotin, like vitamin B complex remember to stop these 5-7 days before any testing. Biotin can falsely affect test results
If testing ferritin, stop iron supplements a week before
Medichecks recommend paying for guaranteed next day to make sure it gets there, I have always done that.
I always pay for Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day by 1pm.
There is only 1 collection where I live and that is 4.30pm so I take mine to the Post Office about 3.45pm.
Medichecks and Blue Horizon say to post so that it gets there the next day. First Class post is not guaranteed to get there next day and you have no come back.
Special Delivery has failed on a few occasions and taken 2 days to get there, if that happens you can claim the cost of the service back.
I do as SlowDragon does. I just post at the main post office before noon and it has always arrived the next day. I do ask for a certificate of posting just because it’s available and is free of charge.
I am planning on doing a finger-prick thyroid check ultra, which requires 2 vials of blood! At the moment I don’t plan on paying extra for next day delivery but depending on how difficult I find it to squeeze out that much blood, I guess it’s always possible I might change my mind. So far, though I’ve had no problem at all and all samples have arrived the next day.
I use standard post, using my local postbox, which is collected by the postman at 4.00pm. I've always done this for both Medichecks and Thriva. I keep the sample at home and drop it in the post box just before pick up time. The only time I've not done that was when Blue Horizon was offering a very comprehensive set of tests in India, and the samples went first to somewhere in the UK to be centrifuged, and on that occasion it went special delivery from the main PO.
Well up and blood done for 8am and posted in main post offi e for 8:20
