My TSH is 0.23 which is very low but all other thyroid tests come back mid range.

I have had thyroid nodules for a couple of years and I think is getting bigger. Any suggestions to why I’ve been diagnose with sub clinical hyperthyroidism but have the symptoms of hypothyroidism

Thanks

Doctor is nuts! He's going by the fact that your TSH is a bit below range (although not even suppressed, that would be below 0.1) and ignoring the fact that your FT4 is only 40% through range.

For a full picture you need the following tested:

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies:

Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) and Thyroglobulin (Tg) for Hashimoto's - hypothyroidism

Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI) and TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb) for Graves - hyperthyroidism

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Post results when you have them, along with their reference ranges and any supplements that you take.

Thank you

I will ask him to test for those

As per last week my

b12 was 919 but that’s with my monthly injections

Serum folate was 10.7 (range 3.10-19.9)

Serum ferritin 95 (range 15.0-200.0)

My vitamin D was 80 now as I’m on the spray 3000 from Holland and Barrett

Thank you

Make sure that you do not take any B vitamins or nutritional yeast containing biotin in the week before blood tests. Biotin interferes with many blood tests including TSH and can make you appear hyper when you are not.
