My question is on EFRA medication

Hi, so ashamed to say it has been seven years since I wrote anything on Thyroid UK. So much has happened to me in the meantime the worse being, Ovarian Cancer in 2014. After 18 years on thyroxine I became 'resistant'... my pharmacist here in Italy was a great help (better than the Endo) He got me to use TiroidelIBSA....this has worked well..but it has now been recalled...so finally I went on-line and have bought from EFRA Thyroid...100 tablets 60 mgs and 30 mgs another 100 tablets...the Doctor told me to take one tablet of 60 mgs in the morning and one of 30 mgs at 15.00 hours in the afternoon. Start this new cure on the 30th of March.....only one problem the price...hope it works??? Another thing is the idea of putting the treatment up higher after six weeks ect....i am hoping that it will work as it is....don't have a lot of problems with my thyroid....brain fog...tiredness, pain in the joints....hernia hiatus.....try to take as few tablets as I can. Use vitamin d drops daily.....two injections a month of vitamin b 12. and yes I am 'self-medicating' because in spite of private visits to the Endo have never been helped.....I am a nurse and don't take anything by myself unless it is really necessary....thyroid has always been a puzzle to me...don't know if it is the brain fog..and I could sleep at any time of the day...even standing up putting the dishes in the washing up machine...after lunch the other day I fell asleep..the noise of the plate falling and breaking awoke me....so this is were I'm at? Hope it makes sense. Even though I have not written I have always followed all the wonderful people on this site who are helping each other and being there for each other.....I am not ashamed to say I pray and bring you all in prayer to whatever God you may worship....we are all brothers and I love to think that each person can follow what is a help to them. Thank you for any help you can give me or any advice as I start to take the EFRA .....bye bye until the next time. Thyroidpest

You should be OK on the ERFA, the only way to know is to try it.

It was a good idea to order some 30mg tablets as well as they will assist you in making any necessary small changes to the dosage.

If EFRA doesn't work for you, there are other brands of NDT available. But give the ERFA a good few months trial first.

Thank you so much for the quick reply

Hypopotamus. Yes I think you are right I will do well on Efra. Oh by the way the reason I have ordered the 30 mgs tablet is because the Doctor told me to take one tablet 60 mgs in the morning and at 15.00 hours in the afternoon one tablet of 30 mgs....like this he said the quantity would be exactly the same as the IBSA tablet that I have been taking over the passed six years.

Thank you for your nice positive words..

and I try to keep positive always. ...have a lovely day to all of you who are struggling with thyroid problems....you are not alone and many people on this site can help with what they themselves have been through ...Bye bye from sunny Italy....The sun certainly helps.

Just my two cents, I started out on Erfa when I was self medicating and it was excellent, I have since found a doc who prescribed NP thyroid but the Erfa worked amazingly well.
