After having a cough for such a long time and offerd a chest x-ray in January. Which I blindly obliged as was little worried to my worsening cough up .

Well what can I say . It gave me the worst episode I've ever had in my whole life ...pisses all over a month in hospital with meningitis that's for sure. 4-5 days (wouldn't ever share what I went through)

Getting palpitations now 🀐 still recovering as something had to give . I'm booked to see a endo im may and my gp referal letter is ...πŸ˜‘ the way I'm portrayed .(will photo and attach.) .

Realized I'd been bluddy xrayed with no thyroid protection my whole life fell into place and the cause of absolutly everything pigging thyroid .

And realized a damn site more too ....Wow just wow

Looking forward to reply s been quite lonley all day πŸ™

A persistent cough is common when hypothyroid due to low stomach acid

Your other posts say you stopped taking your Levothyroxine. And recent blood test shows you are currently extremely hypothyroid

Likely to have very low vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 as well

Levothyroxine needs to be taken every day

Bloods retested after 6-8 weeks on constant unchanging dose of Levothyroxine

in reply to SlowDragon

Hiya I know but I've not been able to tolerate the levothyroxine I swell like Pillsbury dough boy . Get confused . Lack in get up and go . As my previous post I still feel like I've been euthinased since 2012 and will stand by that.

Yes have addressed my nutritional needs myself .

No one else ever mentioned this and has been the best thing to ever happen to me .

Waiting for endo appt in May.

Hoping to have fixed myself in the meantime .

I hope she likes reading ..lol .

Have you had coeliac blood test to rule it out

Are you on strictly gluten free diet or tried it?

Or tried dairy free?

Which brands of Levothyroxine have you tried?

Many people react badly to Teva brand

Others prefer it

Some only get on with Mercury Pharma

Others prefer Activis, or Wockhart

Getting DIO2 gene test might be a good idea

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

If you test positive then this is good scientific proof you might benefit from addition of small dose of T3

in reply to SlowDragon

Afternoon slowdragon .

Have had every blood test from Gp and have only had thyroid concentrated on .

Endo in Feb questioned if gp had suggested branding as August 18 Was reuptake

25 mcg Wockhardt.

Sept 18, 50mcg teva.

Oct 18, 100mcg Actavis.

Dec 125mcg -100mcg Actavis with 25mcg Wockhardt.

Became suicidal again fully symptomatic begging of November 18 .remember as made plan for 29th .(My wedding anniversary).

Pulled myself through . How I don t know .

My other posts cover January 19 till now.

I have lowered my own tsh. Being chemical FREE.

Stopped all meds in January.

Have a local endo appt in May and am currently agreeing with the gyne testing route as endo not left with much else to treat lol.

Thanks ❀ Tam x

Your post from 24 days ago said you are not taking any vitamin supplements

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu......

Is that still the case

When were vitamins last tested?

Vitamins need to be at good levels before starting on T3

Strictly gluten free diet helps thousands on here with Hashimoto's

Get GP to do coeliac blood test and vitamin testing

in reply to SlowDragon

Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels

Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working

Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten. Dairy is second most common.

According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps, sometimes significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first or buy test online for under Β£20, just to rule it out first

Trying gluten free diet for 3-6 months. If no noticeable improvement then reintroduce gluten and see if symptoms get worse

But don't be surprised that GP or endo never mention gut, gluten or low vitamins. Hashimoto's gut connection and gluten intolerance is very poorly understood

Recommended vitamins for Hashimoto's

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function of Hashimoto's.

Widely available including H&B

Aiming to get vitamin D levels to at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better

B12 and folate on the low side.

Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial.

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks ).

Or Jarrow B-right is popular choice, but is large capsule

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Ferritin was very low. Needs to improve to around half way in range

Eating liver or liver pate once a week, plus other iron rich foods plus daily vitamin C can help improve iron absorption

in reply to SlowDragon

Yes I know I'm brilliant atm don't need lecture .

This post is to cover and provide awareness that hypo and hyper IS Affected by poor protection of chemical rays being absorbed .

Along with built up toxicity is suicide .
