Levothyroxine and Milk Kefir?

Hi, just started on Milk Kefir, but wonder if this would interfere with the Levothyroxine I am taking? Would it be O.K. to take the medication, say 2 hours after the kefir?

Many thanks in advance,

Barbara

That should be OK. I leave it nearer to 4 hours. I don't know how much calcium remains in kefir, but I do know that pretty much all the lactose is used up. It's great food: high in folate and full of good bacteria.

Hi

Two hours is fine. Unless you have a huge meal your stomach is empty after two hours. ( according to my sister who is a scientist). Kefir is great too.

Thank you both, for the info.

I have been taking it every day and find it has really helped the gastric trouble I had and makes my gut feel quite settled. I also have discontinued gluten products and now make Pancakes with milk kefir and buckwheat(gluten-free) Very tasty! Next is a search for a bread recipe with a variety of seeds/grains without adding yeast.

Wish I could sort out all the other problems as easily!
