Many thanks, very interesting. In past 10 days, Ive completed my personal review of 4 microbiome test labs but didn't know about Atlas so I'll check this out. There's a few online reviews.

Fortunately I've not yet ordered my 3rd test but will soon.

If anyone's interested in outcome of my review including Atlas, let me know.

Yes i’d be very interested..., I haven’t had mine tested but became very interested after reading The Diet Myth by Tim Spectre, I now follow him and Miguel Matteus on Instagram.., hopefully our children can benefit from their research and discoveries and maybe protect themselves from triggering some diseases - Tim Spectre recently posted how he feels the future medics should learn about the influence of nutrition on health as part of their medical degree - I would love to see that!!!!

Thanks, just a small typo. It's Tim Spector (The Diet Myth)

Hi, it would be great to hear your reviews. I wondered about having this done but then didn't know what it would tell me and how to understand the results.

Yes please, I've been thinking about this for a while but really don't know which company would be best. Having a detailed analysis and consultation is vital - and that would tip the balance for me so long as all other factors were good. I have a slight reservation in that a company selling kefir is in collaboration with a gut microbiome testing company - possibly ethically questionable? Happy to be proven wrong.

AmandaK I wonder about this too. But it's standard practise these days isn't it, to be an 'alternative' expert in some health issue and sell products to help cure the problem.

I am on this company's mailing list and saw very recently that Shann and her team are now promoting themselves as nutrition experts (or something along that line anyway).

Hi. After giving it a lot of thought, and having just read the book, The Kefir Solution, by Shann Nix Jones, I’ve decided to start the chuckling goat Kefir programme. Haven’t bought any yet but it all seems to make sense. Sounds like it’s helped you. I’d be interested to hear about the test if you take it and how it differs from the general programme. Thanks for the info.

TD2017, I hope it works for you. However, do be aware (and I realise the book may tell you this, but in case not) that there are some people that not only don't benefit from kefir, but find their gut issues are worsened by taking it.

Just as with thyroid hormones (as you're posting here I assume you have a thyroid issue), kefir is not a 'one size fits all' solution.

I would be interested to know how biased the microbiome test from this company is to the product/s they sell. i.e. if your microbiome is not suited to benefit from kefir, would the test actually show this and advise you not to take it?

Hi.... I haven’t taken the test yet due to money at the mo.. but I will eventually..., I still swear by probiotics which have def improved my gut, I now have different forms as Tim Spector advocates as much variety as possible....I realise there is always the fear of company’s collaborating to increase sales but on the other hand if you have a product which you really believe in and have had much good feedback would you not try and reinforce what you are claiming with scientific evidence...I suppose there’s different ways of looking at things..., sometimes we just have to try for ourselves to know.

Incidentally and a little off track but recently my daughter and friends spent 2 months travelling India, she had had a couple of episodes with her digestion and so I got her on the probiotics and suggested she see what happens, she was nervous how she would get on in India so I sent her off with probiotics and prebiotics and told her to take them daily..., she was the only one who didn’t get Delhi belly!!!...

Remember to eat lots of prebiotic food whilst trialling your goat kefir x

Please let me know how you find it :-)

Thanks to both comments. I don’t have a thyroid problem but found myself on this section as I was researching Kefir on the IBS section. Was looking to see who has used the chuckling goat product. Having tried most things recently, and over the years, I do believe my issues don’t relate to a particular food but more to do with functionality. I’m not particularly stressed and certainly not depressed. But have been fighting this all my life and just fed up with not getting very far. So I’ll give the Kefir a go and cross fingers I’m not one of those who react badly. Still very interested in any feedback from anyone who decides to take the microbiome test. 😂
