Blood results
What thyroid meds are you on?
When was your last dose before the blood draw?
Do you have Hashi's?
Last meds were 24 hours before and it was fasting done at 7am. I’m on 175mgs of levothyroxine. Antibodies have never been high but have several other autoimmune conditions. Antibodies have been tested twice if I remember correctly. Ty
As your Levo was taken 24 hours prior to blood draw, then your high FT4 is not the result of taking your Levo too close to the test. This would normally mean that you are overmedicated but your TSH is far too high for your FT4 level, so there is a bit of an anomaly there.
As for these
B12 128 250-569 B12 active 46.9 37.5-188
You need to discuss your B12 with your GP. Your Serum B12 level is below range. Active B12 below 70 suggests testing for B12 deficiency. See article by Viapath at St Thomas' Hospital:
viapath.co.uk/our-tests/act...
Reference range: >70*; * between 25-70 referred for MMA
Check for signs of B12 deficiency here:
b12deficiency.info/signs-an...
and any that you do have list them to discuss with your GP and ask for further testing.
As Folate and B12 work together, has Folate been tested?
Vit D 79.5nmol/L
The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L. For your current level, to reach the recommended level, the Vit D Council recommends supplementing with 2,500iu daily then when you've reached the recommended level find your maintenance level by trial and error. Do you take D3's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7?
Ferritin 99.4. 13-150
This is a pretty good level.
Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Doesn’t surprise me that some of the results are an anomaly, that sums me up sometimes.
Vit D in currently supplementing with 3000iu a day. I am taking the magnesium but not the vit k2-mk7 so will look into that. I will check out the B12 info. Folate hasn’t been tested so may get that done.
Once again ty
High FT4 and low FT3 shout poor conversion. You need to ask doctor to test VIT D, B12, folate and ferritin as these help your thyroid to work better and we are often low. They need to be optimal, not just in range. When you have got your results start a new post and you will get useful comments. I reversed my conversion issue doing this but supplementing, especially if you are very low takes time but it also helps with some symptoms as well plus all round health so well worth doing. I didn't need to but sometimes a little T3 helps as well but it's costly so not a doctors first port of call.
