Hi people, sorry if this seems like a dull question. Why is Mannitol added to thyroxine? from what I have seen it is used for diabetes, glaucoma and to make you pee.

In Levo, it's just one of the excipients. It's used as a sweetener in diabetic food. It can also be used as a thickener and a stabiliser.
Lactose is often added to tablets and is used as an ingredient in the coating and filler. Lactose free versions of tablets can contain Mannitol instead, for example Teva Levothyroxine is lactose free but contains mannitol instead.
