Hi all.
This is my first post on here. I have been taking levothyroxine for 4 weeks now, this should be my first period since taking the medication, however I’m two days late now and I’m not sure if it’s the medication? Anyone had the same issue xx
Hi all.

Very common for periods to be affected, especially when only on starter dose
How much Levothyroxine are you currently taking?
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Do not take Levothyroxine dose in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take immediately after blood draw. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Come back with new post once you get your results and ranges

I’m on 50 per day. Which is what I’ve been started on. Go back Thursday for results of latest blood test. I am also taking 210mg iron tablets 2x per day x
