Does anyone know anything about this diet, and where it can be found. Thank you in advance.

What is the SCD diet
As in Specific Carbohydrate Diet? I imagine Google will point you in the right direction. I've not seen it mentioned on the forum.
A quick google returned that this diet is the "specific carbohydrate diet", the idea being eliminating complex carbohydrates from the diet.
There seems to be very little or no scientific evidence that this diet helps Coeliac (it's intended use).
The main risk I see is that replacing complex carbohydrates with simple ones could cause higher blood sugar spikes than a regular diet. This is implicated in the development of insulin tolerance, which is a risk factor for diabetes.
If you have Coeliac or are attempting to reduce symptoms from another disorder, I advise you speak to a qualified dietition (anyone can call themselves a "nutritionist"). A registered dietition is essentially a medically certified nutritionist, and is therefore more likely to be trustworthy.
I know someone with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) which is NOT the same as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). She eats (or used to eat) an SCD diet as one of her many diet related experiments into trying to improve her gut. I don't think it worked for her, and in the end she gave up experimenting, eats whatever she wants, and relies on prescribed medication to control her pain and symptoms. In my opinion, it probably wasn't her best ever decision, but then it's her choice ...
I'd take a look at the AIP diet instead, Auto Immune Protocol and have a look at e.g. paleomom.com. The principle is to eliminate foods that are known common problems e.g. dairy, gluten, eggs, soya, nightshades etc and then re-introduce them and see how you go. It's all about reducing inflammation, boosting immunity, healing your gut, and getting the right nutrients. If you go through the process you will find that some foods will never be ok for you (e.g. gluten if you're coeliac), some in small amounts, some will be eat as much as you like, and some may be good for you but you detest every mouthful (e.g. liver lol).
There is also GAPS and SCD which are roughly similar approaches.
My husband is coeliac plus other issues (histamine intolerance being one of them) and we've been round the houses with all these diets but AIP seems to be the most straightforward to follow and has worked best for him.
Good luck x
Might be worth looking at SCD Lifestyle website - run by two IBD sufferers, some useful information. I am more or less AIP and definitely better grain and dairy free. Best wishes
I'm on the fourth day of this diet, so far it's not done anything for me, my symptoms have arguably got worse. It sounds good though and if anyone needs the manual I can email it to them, save them paying £30.
Thank you for your reply. I also have tried this for nearly 2 weeks. And have had worse symptoms.
I should have read the fly cover first. I was puzzled to where the author obtained hid knowledge. When I found it on the back fly cover, I understood why I got worse. His knowledge comes from divine intervention, and not medical training. Another dream shattered.
Feel the same, I've tried gluton free, diary free and this diet. Nothing has worked. I'm almost accepting now that I just have to put up with the digestive problems. Nothings been found medically and nothings been solved dietary. Tried betaine hcl again nothing. Seems the omeprazole has ruined my stomach.
I too was prescribed Omeprazole, but take it only when I am climbing the walls. Doctors just don't get it. And shove yet another pill at you. Wouldn't it be cheaper to investigate properly, considering what drug companies charge . I think it is deliberate, and we are just on a wheel to keep drug companies going. But then again I am cynical.
you're cynical I'm probably worse, I've read a lot about these PPI's and I think they're one of the go to prescription drugs for anything stomach, acid or heartburn related. Massively over prescribed and I think they do alot of damage.

This link says it all, not for long term use, yet I was on them for 2 years plus and only stopped of my own accord. They've definitely ruined my digestive system somehow.
I agree. My husband and my 2 daughters have been prescribed them. I have told them how dangerous it must be to take them daily.
It must be to do with how our food is produced, and all the chemicals it goes through.
Years ago people grew their own food, and I bet they didn't have all the problems we have today.
Thank you for the link, I will check it out. I am grateful for any information that will help understand what's going on.
