D appointment cancelled. Advice please

Morning everyone. I had my GP appointment this morning to discuss my test results from Blue Horizon. It's been cancelled as sh s sick and can't get another one until 15th February!!

I've started taking 100 mg of thyroxin rather than the 75mg I'm currently prescribed and started GF diet. I'm less tired and sleeping improved .

I've had slightly low white blood cells 3.8 since October and also swollen joints in my fingers, now I'm getting chills like flu (but not) can't warm up.

Is this thyroid? Anyone else had this?

I don't want to sound like a hypacondriac as I'm definitely not.

I've got telephone consultation later with a different GP.

I would really appreciate any advice.

I'm also menopausal which doesn't help! 😂

I've just had phone consultation. Yes, I have Autoimmune thyroid problem but TSH is normal still so no, would not suggest upping my thyroxin or seeing an endocrinologist!! Ahhhh

It is very annoying when you feel awful and you are still ‘within the range’ and your doctor won’t do anything about it.

Are you doing anything to boost your B12, itamin D and ferritin which were all quite low on your most recent results? You really need them to be near the top of their ranges to help your thyroid. I take Jarrow sublingual B12 - you want B12 that is methylcobalamin - not cyanocobalamin like some B12 has. I used to use Better You vitamin D spray and that was good but I now take a vitamin D and K combined, haven’t tested since I started so I don’t know if it is better or not. My ferritin is very high so I haven’t a clue what you would take to boost that - I’m sure someone will come along soon with more advice for you.

If you go gluten free and want tested to see if you are coeliac then get tested before you start as the test won’t work if you are not eating gluten, then when you start I’d suggest you join CoeliacUK - you will get excellent support and they have a handbook with every GF food you can imagine listed in it. I startedas an experiment but found it really reduced my thyroid antibodies to the extent I wouldn’t eat non GF food now.

Thanks. Yes, I'm doing that. He said he won't increase my thyroxin. I've actually done it myself but obviously will run out of thyroxin before my repeat prescription
