Health Ombudsman : has anyone ever made a complaint?

Hi, I complained about advice given at my doctor's surgery and quite shocked at the reply.

If it's allowed and I can do it, I can post the response, but basically they think it's fine that I was told not to take my meds for 6 weeks.

I want to reply if anyone can help me?

Without seeing the response, we can't really comment. However, the Ombudsman will rarely become formally involved unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure of the surgery involved.

I did do their complaints first.

If you've exhausted the procedure rather than simply made a complaint, the Ombudsman will then consider if it's appropriate to take up the complaint. If as you say, they're implying there isn't a case to answer, why not post the letter for people to comment? As the Ombudsman service says "We can ask an organisation to look again at a decision it has made, but only if it is clear that it made mistakes, acted unfairly, or didn’t follow its process when making it."

If you include a picture of the letter, make sure personal details and doctors' names are obscured.

This doesn't allow me to add a picture. Do I need to start a new thread?

You should have the option to "Add a Photo" in your opening post in this thread. Go to your first post and click on the downward arrow V next to MORE and choose EDIT, scroll down to below the message box and you should see ADD A PHOTO, click on that, upload your picture, then resubmit your post.

Here's how to do it on a PC, there are no instructions for doing it on any other device

I can't do it. It only gives me an option to report. Sorry. Will place in a new thread.

Hmm. It's 3 pages. It will only let me post one picture.

That's correct, only one picture allowed in the opening post of a thread.

Can you take the relevant points that need commenting on and type them in.

So put it on dropbox (or similar) and post a link

I spoke to a man the other day from parliamentary health ombudsman, he was so helpful, he told me exactly who to speak to, what process to take and what to expect regards a complaint I have made about a nurse. I've had trouble with a few people in regards to doctors, nurses, the difficulty I had was not knowing where it all stemmed from. But the man was encouraging me to raise this complaint because it is so serious that it amounts to malpractice, harassment, dereliction of duties and falsifying records. It's impossible that I am the only person that thanks nurse has done this to and it's affected me deeply, to the point my anxiety has peaked way beyond its been before, I'm crying constantly and it's made me not trust any health professionals. To make matters worse I don't even feel comfortable to seek help for my anxiety which has worsened it.

I don't particularly think I will use the parliamentary health ombudsman, because I have reported this nurse to the NMC along with proof that she has written malicious lies against me.

To cut a long story short, she refused to assess and treat my anxiety.

Then wrote lots of notes in my records saying false lies.

I had clearly stated that I had left my previous GP because they refused to prescribe me anymore zopicline/ my old GP records confirm this to be a lie, my new GP records prove this to be a lie. 111 records prove this to be a lie. I changed GP because 111 advised me to register temporarily in the city where I worked, the temporary GP wrote in my records she had suggested I register there permanently so they could give me ongoing care for while I'm working in there city.

She then wrote that the accident and emergency doctor hadn't read her warning about me and prescribed me a diazapam, because I had told him that I hadn't slept for 5 days !

When his discharge letter to my GP states I had trouble sleeping for a few nights

His hospital medical notes say I struggled to sleep for 2-3 days.

That I turned up with make up on and showing no signs of anxiety, sleep deorivation.

I hadn't worn makeup between January and June because I had suffered recurring eye infection that eventually led to a corneal ulcer.

Everything she wrote was to justify why she refused to treat me,

She also shared these lies with my GP and CMHT.

And wrote a warning alert on my care summary that I'm an aggressive patient who gets aggressive when meds are refused.

I will leave it amongst them to resolve this one, I doubt the doctor and gps are going to defend her against their own written notes.

What she didn't count on was that I recognise when I am being spoken down to, when I am being spoken to with contempt, patronised and being treated in a way that is not acceptable, it was the following encounters that prompted me to request my records.

So her own spitefulness and vindictiveness has come back to bite her.

If the NMC don't do something about her, I will take this to a solicitor.

The irony is I had emailed a complaint about her the day after the incident and didn't push through with it, because I couldn't handle the stress, of being ill and the rigmarole of dealing with the complaint.

She is working in mental health. no way should she be near anyone who is vulnerable and suffering with mental health difficulties, I still don't want the stress, but I owe it to myself for the misery she has caused me and I owe it vulnerable people should be going through the same type of harassment.
