Excellent article Lyn. Thanks for the link.
Brilliant article thank you.
Brilliant - thank you. It gives us hope. I like the admission that a ‘large minority’ might need it - not the minute number of supposed ‘weirdos’ identified by NHS England. Mind you - I’m surprised they suggest there ‘might’ be a link between price and reduction in prescribing. No sh*t Sherlock! Bit of a no-brainer really, even for a hypo sufferer! I wonder if NHS England would even have cared hypos were apparently being prescribed such an ‘ineffective’ and ‘dangerous’ medication if the price hadn’t gone up. They’d clearly been quite prepared for people to take the risk when it was cheap!
And if the efficacy of T3 is so much in doubt, why is it tested for, along with rt3 and adminstered in intensive care? Could it be because it is essential to survival?
🤸🏿♀️
Thanks for posting Lyn. It is disgraceful how the NHS made a ban on a hormone replacement which gives many of us a symptom-free life and we feel well.
I wonder how the decision makers would react if they or those close to them were incapacitated by lack of available, life saving T3!
They just do not want to deal with this farce... so, the great chief, Filthy Lucre is allowed to rule.
Here in Scotland, as you will know, our Health Boards have been instructed by the Health Minister to make T3 available to those with a clinical need.....but, will clinical need always be recognised!
The irony is that by giving thyroid patients free prescriptions for life they have clearly admitted the importance of thyroid replacement hormones to patient's lives....are they unaware of the importance of T3, not just T4. If so, they must be deaf or delusional because the issue has been very clearly put before them as evidenced in this article.
Many thanks for your work in raising our concerns and problems.
They mention 15 studies and then seem to gloss over the amount of studies that people felt better on both t's. Two of the studies actually reported benefits. Why isn't that sufficient to tell us that T3 is useful. Do you have more information on this study?
Hi just as a thought, these people are all about trials and research so has anyone yet come forward with proof that t3 is ineffective????
Hi yes that’s what gets me with all this. Inconclusive probably means what we know already, some do very well on it,some not so well, some don’t need it at all. This means they have to do some work to find out which one you are or hold there hands up and admit they have been wrong about it for years. Personally I don’t see either happening any time soon. Lol
Our advisers have researched and found that they have done all previous research wrong due to the fact that they are not differentiating between poor converters and those that can convert a little. Hopefully, their research will start to get cited in future research and will finally be accepted as the way forward.
