I had an ultrasound done and it showed that my Right Thyroid had a 1.7 x 1.4 x 1.2 CM Nodule. I've been referred to a endocrinologist. I'm hoping this is going to be benign? I wish I knew what to prepare for before the consult? What else can I do?

Make sure it is benign before they operate. They operated on mine as they thought it was cancerous, thook it out, and then during the operation said good news, not cancerous. I said please put it back then, and they smiled. 30 years of mo thyroid. Be careful, John
Your nodule has exactly the same measurements as mine(had TT). There are some nodules(like mine) that cannot be determined if cancerous by fine needle aspiration, the only way is by surgery depending on the cells found in FNA. My nodule was follicular with Hurthle cell neoplasm suspicious for cancer and that's is hard to diagnose as cancerous other than surgery.
Please don't be afraid and do what you need to do. I chose to have all the thyroid removed just to have piece of mind and I am glad I did it.
Good luck!
