There is a link. Or at least hypo is one of the underlying conditions leading to it. Do you think you’re properly treated? It only happened to me untreated.
I’m still being diagnosed at the moment, no treatment plan yet. I’m starting to realise the last few years of little health issues all point to thyroid
My dad had recurrent thrush for 6 months. Doc eventually did blood tests looking for underlying problems and he was diagnosed hypo as a result of those tests.
Well, antibiotics can quite commonly cause an overgrowth of yeast, but that aside, other factors include a poor diet (too many carbohydrates and refined sugars), low stomach acid, and poor immune function - hence the connection with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's. So it's perhaps not the scale of hypothyroidism that's the deciding factor as you suggest, but the degree to whether - or not - you have developed the associated conditions such as low stomach acid; or whether you do do or don't have an autoimmune origin to your thyroid disorder and/or poor immunity.
I used to get it from cortiscosteroid asthma inhaler (long before hypo). It stopped after I stopped using that type of inhaler and just used the blue one - n0 difference to asthma symptoms from stopping it.
