Gene project paves way for DNA testing of babies to check disease risks

Article in I paper today. I know this can be controversial, as in Insurance companies hiking premiums etc but I hope they test for thyroid issues, then we won't be totally reliant on docs who don't understand symptoms, only TSH number.

At least the Scottish Parliament in their debate yesterday mentioned better training for docs re thyroid issues and the fact that symptoms must be taken in to account. In fact I found the debate hopeful on a number of fronts.
