Know nothing.
I’d be careful with green tea. Haven’t tried pills but a few weeks ago I found myself a lovely green tea that wasn’t at all bitter. I’ve been feeling a bit off recently, dizzy, nauseous, gut pains, palpitations. Just very off. I started to wonder what I had been doing recently and the only thing I’d changed was to ditch my regular weak decaf tea for this delicious green tea.
I’ve since discovered ‘anyone Chinese or Japanese knows you don’t dr8nk green tea on an empty stomach, stomach’ seems always taken after a meal. Well I was having a mug of it with breakfast, followed by a couple of top ups while I was reading the papers. Then another couple of cups with, but not after, lunch and another one mid afternoon and while cooking tea. Not surprising I was feeling pretty ill.
Rightly or wrongly it has made me very wary if anything to do with green tea. Shame because it was a really nice tea.
Do you think it's the caffeine in green tea?
According to Dr Google there seems to be a lot of caffeine in it but the effect was amazing. I should have researched first and just had one cup after a meal.
Whatever it was the tea wasn’t strong at all - normally a tea bag can last me for a week, I just dip it in the water and pull it straight out - my regular tea so weak - so I didn’t infuse it for very long at all.
It was most peculiar, I forgot to add constipation to the list of symptoms, all in all I felt bizarre and I feel a lot better since I stopped taking it. Palpitations gone thank goodness.
Such an intense reaction. Great you're feeling much better.
I am thank goodness, the palpitations have definitely gone now, I was beginning to get worried about them.
Who would ever have thought that sort of thing could happen. The tea had such a gentle taste too.
Strange how caffeine effects people differently. I haven't had regular coffee in decades because it makes me feel like I'm jumping out of my skin. I drink matcha powder daily after dinner with no problem. Seems there'd be more caffeine in matcha powder then a cup of green tea because it's concentrated.
