Searching for an endocrinologist

As a newbie to this site I have found the responses to my recent questions very helpful. After trying & failing to get a GP appointment to discuss my situation and what I have understood so far I have decided to try and find an endocrinologist who might help. I don't think the terms and conditions of this site will allow me to mention names but I have been researching in the West Midlands (I live in Birmingham). If anyone has any positive experience of finding an endocrinologist in this area would you be able to private message me. I have been looking at a specialist thyroid clinic in Birmingham but would rather hear from people who have had helpful experiences before spending £250 for a 30 minute consultation. Thank you.

There was a wonderful doctor - not an endocrinoloist - in Birmingham who prescribed due to symptoms but unfortunately for his staff and for patients he died suddently. His staff have been collating over the past three years all of their research and hope to publish when they get sufficient funds and they say it will shake up the Endocrinology in the UK. I hope so. They hope it will change attitudes.
