Your TSH of 16.9 confirms Hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism with antibodies is Hashimoto's.

Apparently it is possible to have Hashi's and Graves.

I will delete your duplicate posts.

GP said that I didn't have Hashi's when I asked

If you post all your test names and results with reference ranges then members will comment.

Also say which antibodies were tested, for example

Thyroid Peroxidase: 100 (<34)

If GP is in UK they will call it autoimmune thyroid disease not Hashimoto's

Most GP's don't understand the autoimmune aspect of Hashimoto's

You can have Thyroid eye disease with Hashimoto's, though it's more likely connected to Graves

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

If also on T3, make sure to take last dose 12 hours prior to test

If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's.

Low vitamins are especially common with Hashimoto's or Graves.

Food intolerances are very common too, especially gluten. So it's important to get TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once . If Graves is suspected then important to test TSI or TRab antibodies tested too

Hashimoto's can cause swollen, prominent, dry gritty and sore eyes

Hypromellose eye drops can help. Over the counter. No prescription needed

To diagnose Graves you need TSI or TRab antibodies tested. Usually only done by an endocrinologist
